We are more aware than ever before of mental health in general, but when it comes to young children, how much do we understand about what affects their emotional wellbeing? In celebration of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we are delighted to welcome Nikolaus Steinbeis, professor of developmental neuroscience at UCL, who has spent the last decade studying children’s social behaviour.
In this talk, he will identify several specific factors that are important in ensuring good mental health in young children, such as social relationships and feeling in control of the world around them. He will also present a current research project that aims to understand how children’s social behaviour changes and will give details for parents, in case they would like to participate
